My story

EMERGENCY PLACEMENT DEADLINE-EXTENDED5PM 03/20/25Name: QuentinAnimal ID: A840706Age: 4 yearsWeight: 70 lbs. About: Get ready to meet Quentin, an absolutely stunning 4-year-old red tick coated cattle dog mix with a spirit as vibrant as his striking looks! This resilient boy arrived at PACC in June 2024 after being rescued from a dangerous situation, possibly involving a gunshot wound. Despite this traumatic start, Quentin`s journey has been one of incredible progress and heartwarming connection. He`s an outgoing, energetic soul who brings joy to everyone he meets.Quentin has made tremendous strides in building trust and confidence with people. He`s a quick learner, especially when treats are involved! He`s mastered his `sit` and loves showing off his skills for a tasty reward. Our volunteers rave about his gentle nature, his love for snuggles, and his happy demeanor on walks. He’s described as a “hidden gem” and a “very good boy” even when uncomfortable. However, it`s important to acknowledge that Quentin has some understandable sensitivities. He can be fearful of forceful handling, and he`s had a couple of incidents where he nipped when feeling pressured or scared, one causing a minor break in the skin. These incidents highlight the importance of understanding his boundaries and using positive reinforcement techniques. To set Quentin up for success, he needs a home that understands his past and is committed to providing a structured, positive environment. He would thrive in a home without other pets, however meet and greets with current dogs in the household are mandatory to see if a home with another dog is possible, with proper structure and management. Due to his past and reactions, dog parks are not no go for this boy. We highly recommend contacting PACC`s TOPDOGS program, a free, volunteer-based training resource, to help him and his new family build a strong, positive bond. Quentin`s deadline is set to end on March 19th at 5 PM, so please come meet him at PACC soon! Don`t wait until the last minute – let`s find this deserving boy his forever home. If Quentin isn`t the perfect fit, our counselors are ready to help you find another wonderful dog in need!Adoption Process:Available for long term foster care 30+ days or adoption through PACC.Interested parties:Must visit PACC before the 5:00pm March 20, 2025 deadline to meet with an adoption or foster counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to

If you have any questions or would like to adopt QUENTIN (GIBBS), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
