My story

Trapped as a kitten in a feral colony, Bernie is now about a year old and has made incredible progress. She’s still a bit unsure around people, but with consistent, gentle attention from staff and volunteers, she’s slowly learning that humans can be safe and kind. Her comfort with people continues to grow with patience and quiet companionship.Where Bernie truly shines is with other cats. She absolutely loves feline friends—she’s playful, confident, and incredibly affectionate in their company. She’s often seen cuddled up with one of her buddies and has a naturally calming, supportive presence that helps other cats feel at ease.Bernie must be adopted into a home with at least one other friendly, social cat, where she can continue to feel secure, connected, and supported.Thanks to a generous donor, Bernie’s adoption fee is fully sponsored—all she needs now is a cat-savvy, loving home to call her own.July 31, 2025, 6:35 pm
