My story

EMERGENCY MEDICAL PLACEMENT DEADLINE 3pm 9/22/24Name: LogicAnimal ID: A840189Age: 6yWeight: 42lbsName: LogicAnimal ID: A840189Age: 6yWeight: 42lbsAbout: Logic is a special boy looking for a special family! He has spinal fusion as well as needing two leg surgeries (FHO/MPL). Logic loves run around and play fetch; he loves people and is very sweet! Unfortunately, after a month of being living in the shelter, it has been reported that he may now be incontinent. Due to this decline, we are seeking emergency foster/rescue/pre-adopt placement to monitor his condition, while PACC start him on a new, more aggressive pain injection treatment. If his spinal pain is well managed, we can perform his leg surgeries to improve his mobility as well. Logic came from a rescue and was adopted as a puppy. He lived in one home his entire 6 years-with this condition-before being surrendered to the shelter due to owner no longer having time for him and him getting more possessive over food and attention. Logic was an outdoor only dog for several years and did chase birds and cats. He should go to a home where he can be the only pet or one that can keep him separated from other dogs in the home during feeding. He has reportedly done well with children 8+, loves toys, likes car rides, and loves all people. His former family said that he is treat motivated, easy to train, knows tricks, and does well getting baths. They also said that despite his arthritis, he loves fetch and has a happy, joyful spirit. Logic shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been tolerant and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit and is looking for a home without cats or other small pets.Key Considerations:•Incontinence: Seen in shelter- Logic sometimes doesn’t always make it out for his walks. Difficult to assess in the shelter if he is truly incontinent. He will need a patient foster parent that can manage cleaning him up or taking him out frequently. •Secure Environment: Must be always kept on a leash. Must be monitored any time if he is spending outside.•Resource Guarding: Logic loves his people, food and toys and tends to not like sharing any of that. Recommend to feed separately, put toys away and set boundaries. •No Cats/small dogs/small animals: Due to his prey drive, small animals are not recommended. Adoption/Foster Proces

If you have any questions or would like to adopt LOGIC, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
