My story

Hi there, I’m Amos — a distinguished gentleman with a heart of gold and a love for the simple things in life. I’m pushing 9 years young, but honestly, age is just a number when you’ve still got pep in your step and plenty of love to give.I’m the definition of low-key. I’ll happily curl up nearby while you work, nap, or binge your favorite show. I don’t need much—just a cozy spot, some fresh air, and someone to call my own. I enjoy short strolls around the neighborhood where I can sniff every interesting scent and maybe spot a squirrel or two (what can I say, I enjoy the drama of squirrel-watching).I’ve got one front leg that’s a bit quirky from an old injury, but that doesn’t keep me from enjoying walks, playtime, and exploring the yard. My foster family says I’m crate trained, house trained, and polite with their things—I’m more of a “look with your eyes” kind of guy than a “chew on your shoes” one.I get along well with other dogs and I’m currently living with a cat who’s a bit of a trickster. As long as we all respect each other`s space, I’m cool with coexisting. I’ve also been brushing up on my manners around food—I`m a quick study, especially when treats are involved!Best of all? I’ve got an Adoption Angel, which means my adoption fee is completely covered. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, I just might be your guy.Ask to meet me—I’m ready to be someone’s heart dog.~~~~~The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is open every day from noon until 6pm (excluding limited holidays/events). You can meet our animals with the convenience of an appointment or as a walk-in. Appointments can be made by emailing adoption@wilco.org. Interested in fostering a dog in need? Join our foster team here: https://www.wilcotx.gov/390/Fostering, then click “Foster Questionnaire.”Looking for a fun way to make a difference? Sign up for our Doggy Day Out program! You can take one of our pups on an adventure for a few hours, giving them a much-needed break from the shelter while you enjoy some quality time. Program runs daily starting at noon. We always welcome your dogs to come and visit our dogs, too! We will see you at 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX 78626.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Amos, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
