Kira is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey, and then we can set up a phone call or meet and greet with the foster! Kira is: Spayed: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized - Currently taking medication for anxiety support More about Kira: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: No, she can become distressed when home alone and can tend to bark at length before she had adjusted to a new environment. She has done well in a closed room overnight, and for up to 9 hours once acclimated and with the help of anxiety medication. She will need a patient adopter who can help her work on this as she adjusts to her new routine, or who is able to bring her to doggie daycare. Leash walking: She has shown some excited frustration when she sees other dogs on walks, and some fearful reactivity toward strangers. She can become easily overwhelmed on walks, and would do best in a quiet area Dog social: She lives with another dog in her foster home and has been doing very well. She has also been a doggie daycare rockstar! Cat social: She has successfully lived with cats in the past, after a very slow proper intro period. Kid friendly: Unknown, but would likely do best with older kids given her nervousness with new people Kira likes: - Showing off her smarts! She already knows sit, place, and especially paw-her personal favorite. - Toys! Which she will sometimes take along on potty breaks, for moral support - Being the big spoon Meet Kira, the ultimate cuddle bug who lives for morning snuggles and endless affection. While she can be a bit shy with new people, Kira's sweet personality shines through with a little patience and once she is comfortable with you, her loyalty and loving nature remain steadfast. She will need an adopter who will give her time, space, and treats to warm up to new humans and would do best in a low traffic neighborhood. She can become very stressed when she is home alone as she adjusts to her new space, so will need a patient adopter who can help her work on this during transitions. She also loves going to doggie daycare! Kira's adoption fee is $300, and she is ready to spend her mornings snuggled up with you! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ *** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program.
