My story

Alfalfa is a 6 year old male who was abandoned at the rescue when he was a puppy. He tolerates being around 60 other dogs at all times because he has no choice, but really he would like to be an only furchild. He is very sweet and affectionate with adults but also have a strong personality so he needs an owner/family that won’t let him be the leader. He would do best in a home without any children, dogs or cats so that he can live out the rest of his life in peace. This stubby tailed boy is a loving and silly dog that just wants his own family to love and spoil him. Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things! Alfalfa is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and sterilized and will come with his medical booklet.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Alfalfa, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
