About: In astronomy, a nova is a star that suddenly increases in brightness and brilliance before returning to its original state. Our Nova is a beautiful girl whose sparkling personality dazzles volunteers and staff every day here at PACC!This energetic and athletic 3-year-old Pit Bull Mix lived in her previous home for two years and is now looking for her forever family.Nova is a truly affectionate and playful pup. Volunteers have described her as a `Velcro dog` who loves to be close to her people. She enjoys playtime and has been known to enthusiastically join in the fun when the pool is filled, even taking a dip herself! Here’s what volunteers have said:“First time walking Nova. She demonstrated a perfect sit while leashing. She has decent leash manners (some minor pulling) but proved to be a delightful walking companion checking in regularly with good eye contact. We stopped several times for treats, and she again demonstrated perfect manners: solid sit, gentle mouth, affectionate. Back in her kennel, unleashing was easy with a solid sit, and her outstanding behavior was rewarded with treats and affection. Nova is struggling somewhat in the shelter with all the noise and excitement of other dogs, but she proved to be a perfect companion away from those distractions. She would love to offer all her heart and soul to her forever partner.”“I met Nova for the first time this week. She was a little excited when I first entered the yard, but soon became a Velcro dog, stuck to my side asking for pets and love. I filled up the pool while she was in the yard and this goofy girl got into the pool as I sprayed water through the fence! She loved getting sprayed with water and being in the pool seemed to help her relax. When I returned to the yard, I pulled my chair up next to the pool as she sat in the water and snuggled up to me. She is an exceptionally sweet and affectionate girl!”In her previous home, Nova was housebroken, crate-trained, and enjoyed playing with her favorite toys. She was described as an affectionate and playful comp
