My story

ADOPT ME! We are sad to announce that Chase from the Paw Patrol litter is back with ALDR, because his family did not think he was a good fit any longer. Handsome fella is now a year and a half old, about 80Ibs, incredibly sweet, but nervous around new friends and takes time to warm up. We are working on helping him build his confidence and helping him feel safe and loved! Chase is well behaved, crate trained, house trained and walks well on a leash! He can sometimes be dog selective, so he would do best in a home without another dog or with a patient adopter who is willing to do a slow and proper introduction to be sure he will get along with any other furry friends. He doesn't seem to react to squirrels or cats while out and about in the neighborhood, but he has barked at his foster guinea pig brother, because he was a little scared of him. Chase is currently in a home with children and doing well, but may not do well with all children since his fear reactions can sometimes be intimidating. His ideal home would be with a family that is willing to give him time to adjust and reassure him he is safe and loved. He has also started professional training to help him manage his reactions when scared and we are recommending he continues to make sure he is set up for success. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need.
