My story

Buttercup here, reporting for duty... as your new best friend! Yes, you heard that right. My favorite volunteers say I'm just an all-around amazing guy, and honestly, I have to agree. I'm a handsome fella on the lookout for my forever human(s) – a calm and loving adult home where I can be the star of the show (because, let's be real, I kind of am!). One of my favorite things in the whole wide world is greeting my people. The second we're out of the fence, you can bet your bottom dollar my paws are going straight to your hips for a big ol' hug and some much-appreciated pets. It's just my way of saying, "Hey! I'm so glad to see you!" Car rides? Oh boy, do I love car rides! I'm the perfect passenger – I settle right into my seat, and if you ask me to sit, I'm all ears (and tail wags!). Of course, a little fresh air is always welcome, so if the window's going down, you can bet my head will be out, taking in all the wonderful smells. And the best part? I'm not one of those barky, anxious car buddies. Nope, I just happily observe the world going by. Speaking of observing, I'm a pretty chill dude when we're out and about. People on the sidewalk? No problem! Even at stoplights, I just look at everyone like they're potential new friends who might offer some ear scratches. I get a little wiggle in my body, like, "Hey there! You look friendly!" And oh man, don't even get me started on pup cups. Talk about a test of patience! I watched every single step as they made mine, resting my head on my favorite volunteers arm and wiggling with anticipation. It was SO worth the wait! Now, I do have a couple of things on my "needs" list for my perfect home. I'm looking for a place without any cats or kids. I just haven't quite figured out how to be the best me around them, and I'd really love a calm environment where I can thrive. So, if you're looking for a devoted, affectionate, and all-around fantastic companion who gives the best hugs and is a dream in the car, well, look no further! I'm Buttercup, and I'm ready to bring all my good boy energy into your life. If you are interested in adopting, please visit the shelter during adoption hours. Be sure to let the front desk know the name of the dog you are interested in visiting. Once you have met with the dog and an application has been approved, we will then ask to complete a meet and greets with any dog(s) that are currently living in the home or visit frequently. Our adoption hours are as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 12pm-5:30pm Thursday: 2:30pm-5pm Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-4:30pm
