My story

Arthur is a sweet, curious, and lovable young dog with a big heart and a nose for adventure. If you’re looking for a trail buddy, Arthur is your guy!As an extra-large pup with a playful, bouncy personality, Arthur needs a home with an experienced, dog-savvy person who can provide structure, guidance, and ongoing positive reinforcement training. His ideal family will be patient and supportive as he continues building confidence around new people, places, and situations.Arthur can be nervous when faced with unfamiliar things or strangers, so a calm, low-traffic home would suit him best. He may enjoy having another dog around, but we’re unsure how he feels about cats. In the past, Arthur has shown some fear-based behaviors—including resource guarding and “stranger danger”—which have resulted in a few minor bites (no medical attention was required).The good news: Arthur is currently on behavior medication and working with a private behaviorist, and he hasn’t had any incidents in over a year.We believe that Arthur would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home without small children. With the right human by his side, Arthur will blossom into a confident, loyal companion.
