My story

Harvey is an almost 2 year old Pit Bull Terrier Mix available for adoption. This sweet guy has been with us a couple of times now, but in his previous home, he did not do well with the other dog in the home, which is why he must go to a home where he can be the only dog to soak up all of his human's affection. Harvey has been a great candidate for going out on walks with staff and volunteers and is eager to learn and please. If Harvey sounds like a great fit for you, stop in and meet with Harvey! Harvey is a STAFF FAVORITE pet! Here's what adoption staff member, Becca has to say about him: This handsome boy is a HUGE bundle of energy! Since Harvey has been here, he has done nothing but want to run around and play. Don't let his endless supply of energy fool you though, once he has settled down, he is a total love bug! His perfect home would be active and give him an outlet to play during the day, but come nighttime, curl up on the couch with his favorite people and binge some T.V. Come meet this cute wiggle-worm today, he just might be the newest member of your family! Harvey is a VOLUNTEER FAVORITE pet! Here is what dog socializing volunteer, Tom, has to say about him: “Getting to walk Harvey first each shift (due to his kennel position) is the perfect way to start. He is always excited and eager to go for the walk, and his enthusiasm is infectious. While his initial burst of energy may be too much for some, I enjoy it knowing that once we are outside, he will settle down into his routine of sniffing, pooping, peeing, and watching everyone else. He likes treats, but is not overly treat-obsessed. He is also happy to play tug whenever he can. But my favorite part of walking Harvey is when we are back in the kennel afterwards. After I have unleashed him, all he wants to do is rub up against my legs, asking to be petted and scratched and to get as much attention as he can. At that point, he is able to show the truly sweet dog that he is.”
