My story

Mara von Mihla is an adorable 1-2 year old coated shepherd mix. If you are looking for a sweet, loving and beautiful dog, Mara is your girl! Mild-mannered Mara starts her day calm and ready for her walk, keeping close to your side and heeling on leash like a pro. She loves to sniff around the flowers and is perfectly fine greeting other dogs face-to-face on her walk. In her playgroups, she is happy and content to explore and socialize with the other dogs. She has a push-and-pull play style and invites other dogs to romp with her. After a play session, she will come up to humans for pets; she especially loves getting her ears scratched. This snuggle bug will lean on you with her soft, fluffy sable coat and just enjoys spending time with you. Likely housebroken, she is learning commands, takes treats gently, and we know she will shine with some time and training. Mara can’t wait to meet you! (No cats please.) Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
