A volunteer writes:Sir Simmons, a handsome all ebony gent, came to the Manhattan Care Center with his three Tortie friends(three gals) as their owner became homeless. He was pretty shy when I first met him and looked at me with giant saucer eyes. On the 10th, he gave me a present for my birthday! What a sweet cat(just like his housemates )! Although he stayed for most of the time on his kuranda bed, he presented me with a whole display of affection, which made my day absolutely fabulous! Sir Simmons head bunted my hand, purred, stretched all along his bed with his four kneading the air and made very sweet eyes at me(see video). Treats helping, he came down his bed and granted me with even more love...Sir Simmons is said to be friendly and outgoing with all(strangers, kids and cats). He would be well mannered, outgoing, playful, talkative and an affectionate lap cat. Sir Simmons might be a little shy at the care center but I bet that in a home sweet home, he will be back to his happy sweet self. Come and meet him soon at the Manhattan Care Center!Sir Simmons was on top of the bed with large pupils, somewhat forward ears and a fairly tight looking body. He sniffed treats and allowed all petting while remaining somewhat tense. At one point he started to try and leave the bed by going behind it and down but there wasn't room. Sir Simmons tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Primary Color: Black Weight: 9.9 Age: 2yrs 0mths 2wks
