Tanka

My story

Meet Tanka, this goofy girl is ready for a new couch to sprawl on, and hopefully a new doggy sibling (or siblings) to play with if possible! Tanka is the best of both worlds, snuggly and playful! She enjoys stuffy toys and lounging in the sun with her friends. Despite being almost 80lbs, Tanka is the best lap dog in the world (and snores like you wouldn't believe!). She loves being pampered and pet and will often boop you with her paw if you stop petting duty before she's ready. One might call her a bit of a diva, but she's just a girl who knows what she wants! Meeting new people can be a little difficult for Tanka, so becoming friends with her can take a little extra time (and extra treats). We've learned she's much more confident around strangers when she has other dogs around her. We believe Tanka would do best in a home where she has another dog to pal around with, and to help her feel more confident adjusting to a new environment. She has been wonderful in playgroups with other dogs here at the shelter, and while she can be a little much at first, she adjusts her playstyle to be the best fit she can be when making new pals. She's even been around cats and all she wants to do is get them to play with her - play bowing and trying to be best of friends with them!
