My story

Meet Shadow – a gentle soul who is waiting for a patient, loving person to help him thrive. At 8 years old, Shadow is an adult dog with a wise and thoughtful temperament. Gone are the days of puppy antics, and in their place is a dog who knows exactly what he wants: a calm, consistent routine and the companionship of an adult human who understands his needs. Though Shadow is a little shy and prone to anxiety, don’t let that fool you – he’s also a champion fetch player and absolutely adores his squeaky small balls!Shadow’s ideal home is one where he can feel secure and at ease. He thrives in an environment with adults who respect his boundaries and give him the space to make his own decisions. Once he feels comfortable, he’s eager to return the affection and will happily solicit attention and playtime from his trusted humans. Shadow may be reserved at first, but he is deeply loyal, and with time, he will show just how much love he has to offer.Since joining our farm, Shadow has made great strides in adjusting to his new routine. He loves the predictability of a steady schedule and a calm, quiet environment. He’s not suited to homes with young children or other animals, as they can cause him unnecessary stress. Though he can be reactive to other dogs outside, he’s great at communicating when he’s feeling overwhelmed, and with gentle guidance, he is able to express himself in healthy ways.Shadow’s journey will require patience and understanding. His ideal adopter will be someone who has experience with shy or fearful dogs or someone willing to put in the time to earn his trust. The reward, however, will be a devoted companion who loves nothing more than a game of fetch and quiet moments of connection.
