My story

Meet Dapper Dobby – experience the joy of this big-hearted boy—he’s waiting to steal your heart!!! Sweet Dobby had a family for 4 years - until illness took them away.   Now he has spent 300 days in a kennel - watching other dogs go home while he waits… and waits… for that one special person to find him. At just over 5 years old and 60ish pounds, this lovable mix (lab, terrier, your guess?) is a perfect blend of gentle, smart, and affectionate. Whether it's greeting every person with a wagging tail and kisses, or snuggling up close at home, Dobby's goal is to love and be loved.  He will lean into your touch, follow you with hopeful eyes, and remind you what it means to be truly chosen. Easygoing & House-ReadyDobby is a dream in the home: Housebroken Crate-trained Excellent at commands including "sit," "stay," and "down" Calm and relaxed throughout the day When it’s time to play, Dobby’s ready! He loves tug-of-war and fetch, and he’s a pro at “leave it.” After playtime, he’s just as happy curling up for a nap in his bed—especially by a window or door where he can keep watch.  He also loves to keep you company for car rides and walks in the woods or around a lake where he can sniff all the smells and dream of catching squirrels. People-Lover ExtraordinaireDobby is sweet and friendly with everyone he meets, kids included! He’s very treat-motivated (and takes them gently), and he’s the kind of pup who would love to snooze at the foot of your bed—or in his own bed nearby. Best as Your One & OnlyDobby can be dog-selective, so he'd thrive as the only pet in the home. But don’t worry—he has more than enough love to go around.  Dobby would do well with an experienced adopter - to show him that love is not temporary and the best years of his life are still to come.
