I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me.I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together!I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.I am not one to sit still! I will flourish in a home with someone that will keep me mentally and physically active!I will need appropriate toys and positive outlets for my energy.Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!Nino has significantly improved and while he is reported to not like having people clean his kennel, he was great during the assessment. He came forward on the shelf, curious, enjoyed treats, allowed all petting, ate squeeze up and then jumped down to eat more of it and allowed to be picked up and held and remained calm when set back down. He was active and came back up on the shelf for more treats. He never got upset and is a sweet, curious cat.Nino interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. We recommend that Nino go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in reactive behavior.A volunteer writes: Whatever I can say about Nino will be an understatement. He's smart and engaged with a knockout stretch routine. When I first met him, I saw he has it down with the yawns and the toes, then the blinks combined with the slow presentation of his adorable cat belly. Somehow, however, this stretch was also kind of adorably lazy. It's true that with me all Nino seemed to do was cuddle, but I know that Nino, however, is far from a lazy cat. He loves his playtime projects because when he plays, it's with his whole heart. Nino is looking to find a family who understands active kitties may be busy, but they also need time to stretch their little kitty toes. Nino has a lot of love to share and is hoping to meet you soon.My foster writes:Nino is one of the easiest fosters I have had! He is SO cuddly and social (even with strangers). He diligently uses the litter and does not scratch furniture (uses scratching posts instead). Not a picky eater and always ready at the door to welcome you home at the end of the day. Absolutely no signs of aggression from this one, unless you initiate play and then there might be some play bites. He will occasionally have the zoomies after dinner. Very friendly with other cats and will plop on his back to ask for belly rubs - yes, he not only tolerates but enjoys them. Huge fan of lounging/stretching (as evident in pics) but happy to play with his human as well :) Once he's completely comfortable with you and the home, he is tolerant of nail trims and bathing sessions! Primary Color: Black Weight: 13.7 Age: 6yrs 7mths 0wks
