My story

Alexandrite is a 3-year-old DSH available for adoption at CCHS! She came to us initially as a transfer from our local animal control facility after being found as a stray kitten with her siblings. She was adopted out, and, unfortunately, found as a stray again. Due to this, we do not know how she does in a home, but what we do know is that she is a sweet girl! She is very nervous when meeting new people and takes time to warm up. She may prefer a quiet, relaxed home with few stressors. She loves affection from her human companions. If you are considering adopting, you should stop in and meet Alexandrite! Alexandrite is a STAFF FAVORITE pet! Here's what Interim Adoption Supervisor, Becca, has to say about her: Alexandrite is a super sweet girl! She has made a lot of progress since she came here. She used to be very shy and would run and hide whenever someone came into her room, but now she often runs up to greet people she is familiar with. She is still nervous when first meeting new people and is a bit independent, but she does come around to solicit attention when she wants it. Don't overlook this cutie!
