My story

🐾 Wilbur – A Gentle Soul in Search of Security Breed: Chihuahua Age: Approximately 10 Months Weight: ~10–12 lbs Neutered / Vaccinated / Microchipped Location: Currently in Board & Train Wilbur is a sweet and sensitive young dog with a gentle nature and a heart full of potential. He came into rescue alongside his brother, Orville, as a young puppy battling ringworm and lacking early socialization. As a result, Wilbur can be shy in new environments and needs time to build trust. He is currently thriving in a structured board-and-train program, where he lives in a home environment and continues to make daily progress. Wilbur is especially comforted by the presence of other dogs and has formed a strong bond with a nurturing, confident canine companion. He would do best in a home with another friendly, balanced dog to help guide him. Though initially timid, once Wilbur feels safe, he blossoms into a devoted and affectionate companion. He enjoys gentle attention, relaxing in a cozy pen, and playing with toys. He is both house-trained and crate-trained and responds well to positive reinforcement and routine. Wilbur Would Thrive In: A quiet, patient home committed to slow introductions and decompression A family with older children or a dog-savvy household A home with a confident resident dog An environment that offers structure, predictability, and love Wilbur is a truly special pup who is learning to trust and enjoy the world at his own pace. With continued guidance and a compassionate home, he will become a loyal and loving family member.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wilbur A826, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
