My story

Meet Alana! This beautiful orange and white tabby is about 3.5 years old and full of personality. Alana came to us over a year ago from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, where she lived in terrible conditions with more than 70 other unvaccinated and unaltered cats. Since then, we've been dedicated to her recovery — and now she’s finally healthy and ready to find her forever home. Alana is incredibly sweet and craves attention. She’s always up for a good petting session and never turns down a tasty treat! She's currently living with other cats and doing well, and she especially enjoys playtime — the laser pointer and feather wand are her favorite toys. A few things to know about her medical background: Alana tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which sounds scary but truly isn’t. FIV+ cats can live long, happy lives and can even live peacefully with non-FIV cats, provided everyone gets along. She’s a bit of a chronic snuffler due to her early environment, which means she often has some eye discharge and crustiness. We add an immune supplement to her wet food daily, which helps manage it. Alana also contracted FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a condition that was once fatal but now has an effective treatment. She completed a full 168-day course and currently needs no further treatment. While we can’t predict the future — as with any pet — we’re happy to answer questions about her FIP journey. Alana would thrive in a calm, loving home. She gets along well with other laid-back cats, hasn't been tested with dogs, and would do well with respectful children. We picture her stretched out in a sunny spot, happily munching treats after a play session. To help her find the perfect home, Alana's adoption fee has been reduced. She’s been through so much and deserves a life of comfort, love, and royal treatment. Alana is spayed, received age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, and is microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption). All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion. Location: Bolton, CTAdoption Fee: $100 ##1730663##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Alana, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
