My story

Dog Name: Ciabatta Breed: Pit Mix Sex: Female Age: 1 year (born May 2024) Weight: 55 lbs. Medical needs: None Housebroken: Yes, when taken out on a regular schedule. She does happy pee when excited. Crate trained: Yes. She sleeps in her crate at night and is crated when alone. Good in the car: Yes. Ciabatta rides wonderful crated in the car but she especially loves to ride shotgun with her doggy seatbelt. She’ll be your passenger princess if maybe you’d consider stopping for a pup cup? Good on a leash: Yes. Ciabatta walks well on leash with a prong collar. On a flat collar she will pull when nervous. Energy level: She’s a big puppy and has plenty of energy to burn! Need a fenced-in yard: No, but it’s always nice. She needs to be walked on leash if a fenced yard isn’t available. Dog Friendly: Yes, Ciabatta loves to wrestle and play chase with other dogs. Cat Friendly? She does not currently live with cats but has been cat tested. She would likely do well with dog savvy felines but might try to playfully chase a cat that runs. Kid Friendly: Yes, once she gets to know them. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? At least school age and appropriately supervised. Ciabatta is nervous meeting new people and she’s especially wary of some smaller humans. She lives with a very active 9 year old boy who she adores running around with. She has been initially fearful of some but not all new children she meets. Not aggressive but submissively cowering and wanting to run away. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Ciabatta is a fun active puppy. She’s very smart and food motivated. Shy at first of new situations and new people but warms up quickly. She is one who may need multiple meets to warm up to new people. She loves playing fetch, tug, carrying around her toys, and romping around with other dogs. She’s a good walking companion in her neighborhood but will get nervous and flighty on further walks or new environments. She loves car rides even if she’s wary of new destinations. Starbucks excluded she’d recognize those pup cup dispensers anywhere. Fosters Location: Middletown, DE Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app. ##2152736##
