Meet Bertha Say hello to Bertha! Bertha is a beautiful Boxer mix who is approximately 1.5 to 2 years old and currently weighs 40 pounds. She ended up in the dog pound, along the border of Mexico! All of the Animal Control Officers loved her, and as us to please help!! We are very happy we were able to rescue her and help her find a forever home! Bertha is a very happy and playful gal! She gets along well with the other dogs in her playgroup at her foster home. They have a great time playing and exploring together shes a smart girl who learns quickly and wants love and attention so badly! She craves being with people and loves life to the fullest! Bertha is in a foster home with one of our wonderful vet techs and a trainer! She is doing fantastic, extremely smart, learning so much and just a wonderful happy girl! Very proud of her, and she has the cutest face ever! I cannot say how much I love this dog, and she is so ready for her very own family! *Bertha tested positive for Chagas disease and has started her treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs.
