My story

Ariel is just under 3 years old and is a buff/white female cat. She came to us over a year ago from a very sad hoarding situation, where we took in a number of cats. When we took her in to get spayed, we discovered that she was pregnant. She had three of the cutest little kittens and did a great job raising them and now it’s her turn. Ariel has had a tough past year, and we are so happy to report that she is now ready for adoption, and we can't wait to find the forever home she deserves. We want to explain Ariel's medical history to any potential adopter. Shortly after Ariel's kittens were adopted, she was hospitalized for over 2 weeks and many tests were done. We found out that she had a very rare infection that is not usually found in cats. Thankfully, she was treated and made a full recovery. However, during her hospitalization, she was diagnosed with FIP. FIP was previously an incurable illness, but now there is an approved FIP treatment available which Ariel completed (168 days total). At this time, she does not require any future treatment for FIP. Just like with any animal (as they are living breathing creatures), we can never guarantee what may happen in the future. We are happy to answer any questions an adopted may have about FIP. Like many cats that come from hoarding situations, Ariel is what we would call a chronic "snuffler" and will probably always have eye discharge and some crust around her eyes.  We add immune supplement to her wet food daily which seems to help. Now getting back to more about our sweet Ariel. She LOVES to get all the attention. She is a high-spirited girl - she doesn't mind being held for very shorts amounts of time and doesn't mind jumping onto your lap for more pets - her only request is that you not try to restrain her. And just so you are aware, she will jump on your back when you bend over! She climbs up onto your shoulders and rubs her face to yours purring very loudly in your ear. Ariel also loves playing and loves any type of treats (as long as she doesn't have to share). Although Ariel is sharing space with other cats, she may do better being a solo cat, or going to a home that has another very laid-back cat. She is a special girl and is looking for a home where she can play, be spoiled with treats and given tons of love. Her adoption fee has been reduced so we can help find her forever home. Cats are negative for FelV/FIV, receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, are spayed/neutered and are microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption). All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion. Location: Bolton, CTAdoption Fee: $100 ##1730664##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ariel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
