My story

Hi, I’m Scout! I’m a dog with quite the story, but I’ve come a long way. The start of my life was pretty traumatic. There was a very angry man who lived in my first home and physically took that out on me and my littermate. So much so, that my sister that I lived with – passed from the abuse. I am lucky that did not happen to me. But even though I had a rough start to life, thanks to my amazing foster parents - you would not know it when you meet me! I have a positive outlook on life and am immediately friendly and looking for some scratches when I meet a new guest. Now I’m a happy, loving boy who’s ready to meet my forever family. I’m a lover, not a fighter—whether it’s with other dogs or humans, I’m all about making friends! I get along with everyone, furry or human, though I do get a little over excited sometimes to say hello, especially around the littlest humans. If you have older kids, I’d love to hang with them and play! My humans have taught me some cool stuff like sitting, laying down, and staying in my crate (though I’m not a huge fan of the crate—it takes a little treat motivation, but then I will settle easily!). I’m a quick learner and I love being rewarded for good behavior, so I’m open to learning even more tricks and going on adventures with you! Why should you adopt me? 1. I’m a great companion who’s ready to love you unconditionally. 2. I get along with all kinds of people and animals. (I live with a big dog, small dog and a cat!) 3. I’m super motivated by treats, so training me will be a breeze! 4. I’m looking for a family who can continue to help me grow and show me all the love I deserve. Help me know that people are not all bad! 5. I am irresistibly cute! love to muzzle-cuddle – I don’t like to brag but I have darn soft muzzle.
