Ymiran

My story

A volunteer writes:Ymiran belonged all her life to the same owner who unfortunately passed away. No wonder she put up a fight when she was removed from her home and ended up, first in a crate, then in a kennel. It is so unsettling to lose one's family, mostly in the senior years...We do not know anything about Ymiran's "lifestyle" except that her most recent care might not have been optimal, judging by the matting of her coat. After more than one month of standoffishness, Ymiran decided to loosen up, leave her den and roam in her main area, taking a closer look at things and people around her. To my surprise and delight, she started playing quite eagerly with me(and on her own), through a feather wand while she was still not too keen at accepting petting with my extended finger. I was happy to bring a bit of "spice" in her life and I am hoping that this is just the beginning of a better relationship with Ymiran and the unveiling of a great kitty. Everybody deserves a chance at a better life..Ymiran is no exception. November is Adopt a Senior Month...and Ymiran is waiting for you...What my friends at ACC say about me:I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.Ymiran was in the den, slightly looking out, appearing somewhat calm, sniffed treats without eating and allowed brief petting with the scratcher tool but pulled back, and gave a little hiss, some lip licks and then began very quiet growling/yowling.Ymiran tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
