Sex: FemaleBreed: German Shepherd xEstimated Birth Date: 01/02/2023Did you know that shepherds, pitties and huskys are some of the most overlooked breeds in the shelter system? Now add to that the massive influx of dogs our shelters are seeing. It’s a recipe for disaster! Things are so bad that even puppies are at risk of euthanasia. Beautiful puppies like Loretta who are in their formative years are growing up and then dying in the shelter. It breaks our hearts but thankfully we can help some of these young guys get out and have a 2nd Chance through our Pawsitive Change Prison program. Loretta lacked some vital social skills when we pulled her. Her communication with other dogs wasn’t great and this basically guaranteed she would be overlooked in a shelter environment. She needed the time rescue could give her and the training Pawsitive Change can provide. That’s exactly what we’ve set her up with. Time, positive exposure and guidance will turn this sweet girl into the amazing pup we know she can be. Loretta’s learned so much in her short time with us. She is now able to play with most of the other puppies at our ranch and has turned into a total love bug! She’s fun, playful and social. Everything you’d expect in a growing puppy. Pawsitive Change is going to take her training to the next level! Once she’s completed the program at Tehachapi State Prison she’ll be ready for adoption.
