Meet Cowboy, the perfect blend of adventure buddy and snuggly couch potato. This sweet, affectionate boy has completed two weeks of professional training with Canine PHD in Decatur, and his progress has been incredible. Cowboy is super smart, food motivated, and eager to please. One of the coolest things he’s learned is a reliable “sit” command that also works as a “settle” cue when he gets excited. He’s a quick learner with so much potential, and he’s ready for a family who will continue building on the great foundation he’s started.Cowboy loves being around people and thrives on affection—he’s happiest curled up next to his humans, soaking up all the love and attention. He’s equally happy heading out for a walk or adventure, but when it’s time to relax, he’s the ultimate couch potato. Cowboy has a low prey drive and doesn’t show any interest in squirrels, even with plenty running through the backyard. He’s also shown potential to live with a cat—he loves playing with the resident cat through the window and has never shown signs of aggression. This gentle boy has a soft spot for toys, especially his stuffed lamb chop, which he snuggles and kisses—it`s ridiculously cute. Cowboy would thrive as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the attention, but he may also do well with a bigger dog after slow introductions. He’s had positive interactions with the neighbor’s dog and during his training fence test. Because of his energy and tendency to get excited and jump, Cowboy would do best in a home without young children or small dogs.Cowboy has had a rough past, but he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will appreciate his sweet, snuggly nature and continue his training journey. He has so much love to give and deserves to be spoiled the way he’s always deserved. Could Cowboy be your new best friend?
