My story

If ever there was a dog who could look straight into your soul with a crooked little grin and say, “You’re mine now,” it’s Muddy.Muddy is almost 2 years old, and his journey so far has been a bit of a rollercoaster. He first came to us as a stray in September 2024, full of hope and charm and that signature underbite smile. He was quickly adopted the next month, but returned just three days later when things didn’t work out with the adopter’s other dog. Muddy prefers to be your only pet, your sidekick, your bedtime spoon. That said, he’s not totally anti-social! He has a “rough and tough” play style and can absolutely hang out with dog friends in controlled settings, dog parks aren’t off the table if he’s monitored and matched with the right playmate.In February 2025, he was adopted by a single man who became his world. They were inseparable. Muddy had free roam of the house, slept in bed every night, and soaked up every bit of love he was given. Tragically, that chapter ended when his person became ill and was hospitalized in August 2025. Muddy’s back with us now, but his heart still aches for that kind of love, and he’s ready to give it again, completely and unconditionally.Muddy isn`t perfect, none of us are. He just wants to be someone’s whole world again. Someone who’ll laugh at his antics, give him a cozy place on the bed, and promise that this time, it’s forever.
