Zay

My story

At 11 years old, it’s time for Zay to finally experience the true comfort of a home. For the first 10 years of his life, he was mostly kept in the yard by his former owner—so it’s no surprise that he still enjoys being outside. He also loves water and is an excellent swimmer! Zay is dog-friendly, leash-trained, house-trained, and absolutely loves car rides. He’ll rest his head on the center console—it’s his way of showing love and affection. While he enjoys being near people, he’s also independent. Cuddling isn’t his love language, but lying beside you is. Since joining APA!, Zay has gone on a few field trips and sleepovers. His notes say: “Zay was a PERFECT gentleman as a house guest. He was calm and spent most of his time napping…” He loves treats and is an easygoing, low-maintenance companion. At over 90 pounds and given his age, Zay would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with a secure yard.
