My story

Cheese is a 1 yr old shepherd mix with possibly Carolina dog in the mix that weighs 50 pounds. He was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/1/2024 due to the owners had too many animals. Disclosure time: he was being walked through the bay and another dog bit his tail. This traumatized him. Then shortly after that, the same person tried to leash him. He got tangled and he bit her out of fear. So he does have a bite history. However, there have been no more incidences. He is one of my favorites. I take him out every time I’m at the shelter. He now walks very well on a leash, is cautiously friendly, and even seems to enjoy me brushing him. He’s sweet, docile, agile, well mannered, and enjoys receiving affection. He would do best in a laid-back household with older children. He would benefit from a slow introduction. He has much love to give, please give him the chance to be the best companion to your loving home.
