URGENT AT RISK: River is struggling with a heavy heart after waiting six long months for a family to choose him*If River does not find placement by the end of the day on 3/29/25, he may face the heartbreaking fate of humane euthanasia.*This sweet boy deserves to trade his heartache for a heart filled with joy that a loving home provides, and he’s ready to give all of his love in return. He needs someone special—someone who will be as dedicated to him as he is to them.River does well with other canine friends who enjoy rough housing and playing chase. To ensure River will be a perfect match, we recommend bringing your current canine family members for a meet and greet.Recently, River had a wonderful day out with a Breakout Buddy foster, and let us tell you, it was nothing short of magical! She described him as initially shy but undeniably sweet, playful, and inquisitive. Their adventures took them to the park, where River showed off his playful spirit. While he may take a moment to warm up to male humans, it’s heartwarming to see him blossom once he realizes they’re friends.One of River’s favorite activities is playing fetch—he’s got a great love for the game and knows how to sit like a pro! But nothing seems to light up his spirit quite like running the trails at the park. He would make an incredible adventure buddy for anyone who shares a passion for the great outdoors.River’s heart may be a bit fragile from waiting, but with your love and care, he’ll soon know the warmth of a true family.
