My story

This beautiful girl was rescued from the Spencer County hoarding case rescue in September and is now ready to live the good life with her very own family and home. Can you be her hero? She is in a foster home and this is what her foster mom has to say: "Are you looking for a new best friend with personality?  One that will follow you around and talk to you? Then look no further, Maggie is your girl!  Maggie is approximately 11 months old, has been spayed and is starting to settle down.  She has become more curious of other people and is starting to warm up quicker.  She still enjoys the outdoors, loves chilling in the shade in the yard, watching birds and listing to the frogs at night.  She loves car rides and is still working on walking on a leash. She likes to check the perimeter and make sure everything is up to her standards each morning and report back. She is fully house broken and now sleeps with the crate door open with no issues and free run of the house while I’m home.  She desperately wants her own forever family to love to and protect them from any rouge squirrels. Maggie is doing well in my foster home, with my almost 2 year old golden retriever.  She took a few days to decompress and then began to check out the house and yard. After that she was exploring all the rooms and walking up and down the steps like a champ.  Maggie has been very curious and brave as she learns about a home, new sounds, smells, and other dogs in the neighboring yards.  She loves plush toys, looking out the window, being outside, wrestling with my dog, running the fence with the neighbors’ dogs, and chewing on a good stick.  Maggie doesn’t quite understand the difference between humans and dogs and tries to play with me like I’m a dog too.  She is very timid about meeting new people and looks to my dog for assurance that its ok before she will approach.  Maggie is learning to accept love and be petted.  Maggie is fully housebroken and only had a few accidents in the first few days when we were leaning our communication signs. She is crate trained and uses it as her safe space.  She walks in and out of it freely and at times sleeps in it with the door open. If she is scared, she will run to her crate and always needs access to it. She is a good eater but is not food or toy aggressive. Maggie does not whine or bark while in her crate in the car, although she was scared riding home and to the vet.Maggie is super chill while I work in my home office and enjoys hanging out with my golden.  She has taken over the office dog bed, plays with toys, chews on a Nylabone, entertains herself and is quite during conference calls. This girl has made so much progress and has really come a long way in a short amount of time. She needs to find her forever home. Could you be her forever family? She will make a fantastic companion for her forever family and her love is worth the wait."
