My story

Meet Maverick! Maverick is currently being fostered in Ames, Iowa and is not located at Midlands Humane Society. If you're interested in adopting him, please complete an application here: 👉 Adoption Application Maverick is a sensitive soul who forms deep bonds with his people. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, you’ll have a loyal companion for life. He spent 8 weeks at the Clarinda Correctional Facility, where he focused on basic manners and foundational training. Now, he’s continuing his journey as part of the ISU ACE Project in Ames, building on what he’s learned to become the very best version of himself. Maverick is dog-selective and will need proper introductions to other dogs. He has not been tested with cats. If you’re looking for a devoted friend and are willing to give him the time and patience he deserves, Maverick might just be your perfect match.
