My story

I waited 11 yrs to get to play with a pony, a pink pony... I was a loyal friend for 10 years, eating people food n weighing over 150#, and then my human died. She was a good owner, but I do remember having a car crash at a younger age n that sure hurt, but I healed up pretty good. Some areas of my body show the wear n tear, but I don't compete in "a best coat" contest, so the occasional tuft of hair missing is OK with me. I went to live with another family, but after a year, their medical conditions and limited budget pushed them to make a difficult decision: they brought me to a shelter asking for me to be euthanized. Wow, was I scared. A Lab for Life saw me online and found me a great foster. So, 2 days after being dropped off at the shelter, I went for a nice car ride to my foster home. Here I am now: enjoying my new 100# body, freedom and I have the coolest 9 year old little canine roommate. I get to check out the barn and say howdy to the 2 mousers (cats), and I let them do their job. I met horses and donkeys (they made a funny noise to greet me, but I wasn't impressed). That reminds me: one time my foster mom and sister went to the barn and left me in the house - I had no problem with that opening that doorknob and wow my foster mom was so surprised to see I caught up with her! Now, back to my Pony. I love my Pony. I gently lay Pony next to my foster mom so she can toss 2 - 3 times a day for 10 minutes or so, then I rest. I like to check out any food left on counters (I got a whole lot of human food when I was young). I sleep next to the bed at nite and my foster mom has to step over me because when I bed down, I'm out for the count. At my age, just being with my people is my adrenaline rush. I've yet to meet a stranger. I'm responsive off leash when you call me. If needed, a harness (not collar) is best way when I have to have a leash on. If you have a place in your heart where I could love you for the rest of my life, please adopt me and make me your best Buddy! Love, Buddy Buddy is available for Oklahoma adoptions only - he cannot travel on the transport bus to New England/ New York.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Buddy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
