My story

My name is Skye! I am a mature Pitbull/Mix, weighing 65lbs. My age is estimated to be around 9yr old. I was a Momma dog, surrendered to a rural county shelter along with my daughter, who was quickly adopted. Barkville Dog Rescue took me in, and I am looking forward to enjoying my golden years as part of a loving family! I currently live in a foster home, and my foster mom says I am super polite! I listen well and I won&#39t get on the furniture if that&#39s what you prefer, but I certainly wouldn&#39t mind being a couch queen! I love every human I meet - big and small - and have lived in multiple foster homes with young children. The toddler in my current foster home thinks it&#39s pretty funny to make me wear his hats and I have never chewed on any of his toys because I am a really good girl. I don&#39t want to brag, but I am also good for baths and I even get in the tub myself when coaxed. I am housebroken, non-destructive, and I ride nicely in the car, but I tend to be anxious in public so the home is where I really thrive. Take me to school drop-off, but I&#39m not interested in the park or patio. I love the other female dog in my foster home - we do everything together. You can catch us sunbathing, snuggling, or even chasing squirrels. Foster mom thinks another friendly dog gives me comfort so although it&#39s not necessary, I would likely enjoy another medium sized, friendly canine sibling (small dogs and cats need not apply!) Being that I am an older, I do take a daily anti-inflammatory medicine with my breakfast. I am generally a lower energy kind of gal, but I do briefly play wrestle with my foster sister and have been known to chase a squirrel (or two or three or ten), but I really excel at companionship and snoozing the day away. If you&#39re looking for an active pooch to go on walks and play the days away, I&#39m probably not for you. But if you&#39re looking for a well-mannered family lady that&#39s exceptional at Netflix and chill, I&#39m your gal! Sky is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.
