My story

Layla is 7 years young and looking to spend her golden years with her forever family! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: If you’re a fan of sweet cuddles, then you need to meet Layla! This 65 lb baby is an 7 year-old pit mix rescued from Prince George’s County who wants nothing more than to lay all over you! Layla is a very well-behaved oversized lapdog who last year had a litter of pups. Because she had to go to the shelter, she was separated from her puppies, and has a little bit of separation anxiety. That being said, she can come off clingy at first until she settles into her space but she is non-destructive and can be trusted to roam about the house freely. Layla sleeps well in the crate or on the bed, snuggled right up next to you! Her energy levels are still relatively good for a senior lady: she loves a good fetch, a short walk, or a tug-of-war! Layla is good with other dogs when introduced slowly and the other dog is respectful of her space and boundaries. Higher energy dogs or younger dogs who are all over Layla during a meeting bother her. Layla currently lives with 6 cats and is learning to coexist with cats around the house. Layla is a big baby so she is more scared of the cats getting too close. She does not try to chase or attack the cats. Although her foster family does not have children, Layla does well meeting and interacting with children in public. She is more than happy to receive attention from people of all ages! She would be a great fit for many different types of families! Please let us know if you would like more information about this beautiful lady! ATTRIBUTES: Layla has done well with other dogs who are low-medium energy and are respectful of her space. She lives with and does well with the foster's cats. While she has not lived with kids, she has done well interacting with kids outside the home during adoption events. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. We strive to provide accurate information on all of our animals however, we are unable to guarantee an animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or any other conditions. Our adoption fees are not inclusive of all vetting / medical care, food, supplies and/or training costs. Since we rely on donations to compensate for those deficits we are unable to reduce or refund this fee. TO ADOPT OR FOSTER: Please apply on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org or email info@lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org if you have questions! TO DONATE: Please consider making a donation on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org so that Laila's Legacy can continue to provide lifesaving medical treatment and training.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Layla, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
