My story
Meet Kiwi, our precious senior chihuahua mix. Kiwi is 8 years old and weighs just over 8lbs. She is shy at first, but once she knows you, she just wants to be with you. She will follow staff around and climb into their lap if they sit on the floor. Kiwi can often be found curled up underneath her blanket taking a nice nap. Kiwi would love a cozy and quiet retirement home to call her own! Kiwi hasn't seemed to mind some of the other mellow small dogs she's met at the shelter. Kiwi has a grade 4 heart murmur and an enlarged heart. Our vet recommended we follow up with a cardiac ultrasound, which showed Kiwi has mild heart failure. They prescribed her Enalapril and Vetmedin, which Kiwi happily takes in a pill pocket or cheese.
