My story

Sweet, gentle, goofy, gorgeous & cuddly Oakley is looking for his family. 1 year old Bully mix who has a special talent of hopping & jumping of joy. He is great with dogs. Curious but ok with cats. Oakley is proof of what a ‘Bully mix’ can be, when well loved. He is always happy, loves every animal he meets and makes you laugh with his silly goofy side. Despite being very under socialised in his first months of life: coming from a backyard breeder and then being adopted on a whim, made it so that Oakley didn’t get to meet many people or dogs in the beginning. That has changed since being in foster care for over 4 months. He is very playful with dogs (a bit too curious with cats, but listens when you call his name). He is a bit nervous around humans at first but once he knows you, you get all the kisses & cuddles. He is an active boy; he spends most of his days playing in the yard with toys (loves playing with the hanging rope toy by himself) and playing with his doggy friends! He would love to have a dog siblings to play with or someone active. He is super affectionate & and total cuddle monster. He is silly, loving and very special. As Bullies, he hates the cold, but don’t we all. Oakley is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and sterilized and will come with her medical booklet. Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Oakley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
