My story

Kobe von Kamenz is a gorgeous, 5-year-old, long-haired German Shepherd mix. Can you even feel how soft Kobe is through the screen? His larger size makes his gorgeous looks stand out even more. Kobe is a love with his people and looking for an experienced home. He is excited to start the day, especially when his favorite hobbies are involved: eating treats, walking, getting scratches and learning new tricks. Yes, Kobe is super food-motivated (so relatable), and with his love of snacks he's very trainable. (Did you know that when people do something awesome, like making a trick shot in basketball, they shout, “Kobe!") He is likely housebroken. This handsome fella loves going on walks, especially when he can meet new people. He’s working on his social skills with dogs, however, and is looking for a home where he can be your one-and-only MVP (and no cats please). This big boy needs a soft place to lay his head every night. Bring him to your house and watch Kobe make it a home. Rescued from the Downey animal shelter. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
