My story

Ylva is as sweet as they come! She has a huge hematoma in her ear that needed some medical attention. Besides a little headshaking she seems to be healthy and happy. She sure does love the snackies. Ylva is more the cuddle and chill type than the run around with toys. Her sore ear might be part of the problem but she has calm energy generally. Ylva has picked up the shelter crud but she is still happy and sweet. We would love to see her in a foster home recovering instead of a kennel struggling. Came in as a stray on 10/1/24. Found near 900 E 132nd, Chicago Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information. The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
