My story

If anyone were to ask who our bravest, most resilient cat is that is currently residing at our Kitty Cottage, we would point to the Count -- no questions asked. 🖤 This handsome face may look familiar to some of you, as we were giving updates on how the Count was doing with his FIP treatment earlier this year. For a while, the Count had us worried as he continued to feel pretty sick -- however, with consistent care from his amazing fosters and our medical team, we're thrilled to provide the best update we could've hoped for: the Count has recovered and is THRIVING, having shown no signs of relapse over the last month since his treatment ended! 🎉😺 This beautiful boy is a survivor, and is so ready to seize each oncoming day with his renewed energy. 🥹 At 2 years old, the Count came into our care back in October of 2024 after being found as a stray; he was then discovered to be FeLV+ and FIP+. Ever since his arrival, he has been the sweetest, most social boy, and everyone fell head over heels for him. He is now finally back in our FeLV+ room in our Kitty Cottage, more than ready to meet his forever family at last -- he's fought so hard to be with them, and is so deserving of all the love. 🖤 The Count LOVES to play and enjoys sitting on his perch in front of the window, where he can watch the world go by. He also has a particular fondness for catnip — perhaps a little too much 😹 — and is an avid treat enthusiast. But be warned: he’s a plant-eating cat, so you’ll want to keep an eye on your greenery around him! 👀🌿 It brings us so much joy to be writing this update, as it was a little scary for this sweet boy for a while. We know the perfect home will find him, and we can't wait for that day! 🖤 The Count’s purehearted resilience and affectionate nature will undoubtedly make him a wonderful companion for someone ready to share their heart (and lap) with a special cat on the mend. Stop by to give this incredible guy some loving during our open hours, and see if you're the happily-ever-after to his story! 💌

If you have any questions or would like to adopt The Count, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
