My story

8/8/25 update on Star: Can we say glow up! She really is a Star! This girl has come such a long way from being found skinny & sick giving her all to her kittens in the Rio Grande Valley. When she first arrived in Colorado she wanted nothing to do with humans and seemed in pain. It took a couple trips to the vet to decide she needed some teeth removed to ease her pain. That helped a lot but she still seemed to be stressed and in pain so she went under again and all her teeth were removed. Holy moly did that make a difference!!! Now this cat loves pets and cuddles, is more active and grooming! All that her toothless mouth needs is wet food- no biggie. One important thing to note is Star has Calicivirus and is likely a life long carrier. There isn’t much treatment for the Calicivirus- it flares up if immune system is low so it's important to keep her healthy and give boosters, which is a vax kittens usually receive. Since it's contagious, Star is destined to be an only cat (probably fine with her- more pets & cuddles!). Mama Star put in the work bringing her four kittens Frosty, Mista, Narancia and Zoro into the world in May and did a good job raising her babies; now it's her turn to relax and enjoy the comforts of a furever home. Mama Star comes from the Valley (deep South Texas), close to the Texas border with Mexico. Mama Star is shy, but friendly- she will require a patient pawrent to allow her to gain trust in a home and learn to love the good life. The Family are all spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines including Rabies, HCPCh + FeLV, dewormed and tested negative for FeLV, FIV and heart worm. Mama Star has Stomatitis and Gingivitis requiring canned food. The Family has made the journey up to Colorado from San Antonio, TX and is being fostered in Broomfield, CO. ##2213764##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Star (of The Family), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
