My story

Meet Sofia the cutest little senior ever! Sofia joined BAARK Dog Rescue after having been found as a stray. She was in bad shape, very matted and horribly underweight, as we learned after she was shaved down. Clearly all Sofia needed was a bath-and-shave, some good quality food, and lots of attention, cuddling, and love. Within just a couple of weeks, Sofia bounced back into a very sweet sociable little dog who is now looking for a forever family of her own. She absolutely loves people and other dogs; she is not fond of being left alone. The ideal pet parent for Sofia is someone who has plenty of time to devote to her, who will enjoy cuddling this precious pup, and will provide her the best care and all the attention she so deserves. Sofia is good with other dogs. While ok with older children who have been taught to be respectful of dogs, young children scare her. We do not know Sofia’s true age; she is estimated to be 12 years old. She weighs about 9 lbs. We believe she is a Maltipoo. Sofia appears to be housebroken; she goes outside with all the other dogs in her foster home. However she is not liking the cooler weather. She is learning to use potty pads indoors, in case the winter weather will be too much for her to handle. Sofia is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, has had recent bloodwork, is heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, and is up to date on vaccinations.
