My story

Hi, I’m Candle 🕯️—and I promise I shine so much brighter once I’m out of this kennel. I’ll be honest… the shelter is really hard on me. It’s noisy, overwhelming, and not where I feel like myself. So if I seem nervous, anxious, or a little shut down when you see me here, please know—that’s not the real me. The real me comes out the moment I step into a home. Once I’m in a calm space, I’m a totally different dog: happy, playful, and full of love. I absolutely love water, toys, and playing with other dogs (the more energetic the better!). In fact, I’d do great living with another dog who can show me the ropes and share in the fun. I’ve lived with kids before and done really well. I’m also super smart—I already know “sit,” “down,” and “shake,” and I’m eager to learn whatever else you want to teach me. Just give me a little guidance (and maybe some treats), and I’ll be your star student. All I need is a chance. A home. A person (or people!) who will give me a little patience and a lot of love. I’ll repay you with loyalty, tail wags, and a best friend for life. — Candle 🐾💛 If you are interested in adopting, please visit the shelter during adoption hours. Be sure to let the front desk know the name of the dog you are interested in visiting. Once you have met with the dog and an application has been approved, we will then ask to complete a meet and greets with any dog(s) that are currently living in the home or visit frequently. Our adoption hours are as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 12pm-5:30pm Thursday: 2:30pm-5pm Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-4:30pm
