My story

When you come home, she’ll come running up to you, meowing and with excitement and rubbing herself against your legs. How could you not smile? Rubiks Cube—or Ruby, as her foster calls her—has the soul of an explorer. She enjoys checking out new places on her own until she knows every corner. Once she’s settled, her affectionate side shines through. She adores gentle head pets and neck scratches and will happily curl up with you for a cozy nap. True to her name, Rubiks Cube loves to play! She gets especially excited about wands and tassel toys that let her leap and twirl to her heart’s content. Automated toys are also a favorite—she’ll politely meow to let you know when it’s time to turn them on. She also enjoys chasing small balls and toy mice, though she tends to prefer more interactive games that let her engage with you. Interestingly enough, she loves water in any form. Rubiks Cube likes to bat ice around the kitchen floor, and will ask her foster to turn on the sink so she can play in the stream of water. She’s even hopped into the shower with her! Before being rescued, Rubiks Cube experienced an injury that left her with arthritis in her back hip. She gets along just fine, but is sensitive to touch in that area. If petting hurts she will let you know politely and walk away. Rubiks Cube’s ideal adopter will be patient with her, appreciate her unique quirks, and welcome the joy she brings into a home!
