Americano

My story

My foster writes: Americano is a cool little guy who would make a great, low maintenance companion. While he prefers not to be pet, he is happy to sit near you while you watch tv or scroll on your phone. He does love to eat, and will pat at you with his paw to encourage you to give him more treats. He loves to loaf on his heating pad when it's a little chilly, and hang out on his cat tree when it's a little warmer. He does enjoy a little cat tv every now and then, along with his crinkle toys and catnip mice.A volunteer writes: Americano's favorite staff member watched on as I tried desperately to win his friendship. They explained that although his affection can come a bit hard earned, it's definitely worth the extra time. Some cats take longer than others to feel at home and though Americano came from a home with many other cats, it doesn't make adjusting to shelter life any easier. He's looking for a steady place to land his paws, but doesn't quite understand the expectations. Should he say hi to visitors? How does one say hi? Is a little hiss ok? Americano is trying his best to figure things out and is hoping for a family who will see the sparkly star inside. When his staff member came to his condo, I looked on as Americano accepted pets with his feather toy, delicious treats and loving soft words.
