My story

Hi there, my name is Frennie and I am a fun, loving blind girlie looking for my next forever home! I am such a lovely girl but unfortunately my original family was not as in love with me as I was with them. I was very young when I saw them last. All I remember is that at approximately 1 years old they took me to the vet to get my eyes checked and abandoned me there. I guess not being able to see was hard on them too!The lovely humans at the vet where I was left contacted a shelter and the owner came and picked me up! They were so kind to give me a chance without even knowing me! I must be pretty special. After some time at the shelter, the owner was able to find me a beautiful foster that has cared for me for the past 5 years of my life. Since I am fully blind and small, I cannot be around other dogs, cats or kids as I am afraid something might happen to me. I prefer to be around adults only. So I am a perfect fit if you are either living on your own or with a partner! I am also a quick learner as you can see in my video! I learned how to go down the stairs like a champion and can maneuver around by using my senses! Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
