FionaYou may recall my previous story regarding being surrendered to HSHC in October 2024, along with my siblings, because our owner was moving. We all had fleas and a nasty skin infection. Once I recovered from this, I was adopted in January `25 but surrendered again due to some tummy troubles. I was getting pretty discouraged when I moved into a foster home in April. I struck gold with these foster parents (FPs)! My foster dad understands cats very well and set me up to succeed with my own room, bed, litterbox, and cat toys! I`ve been eating wet food with my medicine mixed in and chowing down on the dry. Greenie Cat treats are my favorite. I could eat them 24/7, but my foster dad says only 2 or 3 a day. By the way, I use my litterbox faithfully. I spend most of my time lying in bed in my room to ensure I get my beauty rest! However, I`ve been roaming around the house more frequently. But as soon as the FPs take notice with a positive reaction, I usually retreat to my room. I don`t like a fuss being made over me. I haven`t spent much time building a relationship with the resident cat. We have a tentative agreement to stay out of each other`s way. At bedtime, I go into my room with the door closed to avoid confrontations. I have met the grandkids, ages 9 & 4 1/2, but we didn`t get up close and personal. I have not yet engaged in interactive-toy play sessions, but sometimes play alone. I am obsessed with being brushed with a soft-bristle brush. Although I do not enjoy being picked up, I have lain on my FD`s lap for a while. I used to hide constantly, but now I am more comfortable being with my humans. Thunder and lightning don`t bother me in the least. I`m embarrassed to admit that I occasionally snore when I sleep!! But hey, I`m 12.5 years old and that`s allowed! My new family must do gradual introductions to any pets you already have. The stress I experienced in my former home made it impossible to thrive there. I look forward to meeting you.....SOON! 5-15-25
