My story

Hey, I’m Flake, and yes, I’m a big deal. ;) I’m a 6-week-old, 12lb female fluffy chunk of joy, and I come from the legendary winter weather litter, alongside my wild siblings—Powder, Avalanche, Ice, Flurry, Cloudy, and of course, my amazing mama, Crystal. You could say we’re the ultimate team of snowflakes, but I’d say I’m the one that stands out—because who wouldn’t love this fluffy face? Let me set the record straight: Cuddles are my number one priority. If you think you’re going to get some shut-eye without me snuggling up to you, think again. I’m the puppy who insists on human snuggles before my naps—morning, noon, and night. I mean, what’s the point of napping alone when there’s a perfectly good human around to make it extra cozy, right? I’m a sweet, chatty little nugget who loves to play and explore. I’m not the type to get into all the group activities, though. Sometimes a girl just needs some alone time to reflect on the mysteries of the universe... like why treats are so delicious and whether I can still fit into that spot under the coffee table (spoiler alert: I can). But when I am in the mood to play, I’m as fun as a snowball fight, and I’m always ready to chat. If there’s something to bark about, I’ll let you know. And let’s talk about my cuteness for a second—because yes, I’m basically a living, breathing stuffed animal. I’m a little chunk of adorable, and when you pick me up, I’ll snuggle my head right into your neck. It’s basically like having a warm, fluffy scarf that loves you back. So, how did I end up in the rescue, you ask? My mama, Crystal, is the ultimate snowstorm queen, and one day, she just decided she was going to bless the world with a litter of fluffy little snowflakes. So, she wandered up to a kind stranger's house, and bam—instant puppy party. 🐾 The wonderful human who found us saw mama and knew she needed help. They reached out, and thanks to some amazing people (and even more amazing fosters), my siblings and I made our way to the safety of Pyr Paws N Fluffy Tails Rescue. So, here I am—super adorable, a little bit chatty, and all ready to find a home where the snuggles are endless and the treats are plentiful. Alright, let’s talk about what you can expect when it comes to my overall vibe. I’m what you might call a “happy-go-lucky” pup. I love a good play session with the other dogs—nothing gets me more excited than a game of chase or a toy to chew on. But here’s the twist: I’m also a big fan of my “me time.” I’m the type of pup who can play for a bit, and then—bam—I’m ready to kick back, relax, and soak in some chill vibes. First off, I’ve been on a few car rides, and while I’m still getting used to the whole moving-vehicle thing, I did pretty well for a puppy. As for outings, well, I’m all about the public life. I’d love to join you for a café date, a visit to the pet store, or just about any social gathering. Just imagine me, trotting along with you like the little social butterfly I am, soaking up the attention and giving out puppy kisses. I’m definitely down for whatever life brings, whether it's meeting new people or just hanging out with you in a fun spot. Now of course this is for when I am older and have my vaccinations, I am a bit too young for all that stuff right now. ;) Now, if you’re more of a homebody, that’s totally fine with me, too! I’m a flexible gal, and I’m equally content curling up on the couch with you for a cozy day in. So if you prefer Netflix binges over brunches, I’ll be right there, ready to snuggle and nap. And when it comes to meeting new people? I’m like a little ball of excitement. I might just launch into a full-on puppy celebration whenever someone new walks in the door. The more the merrier, right? 🐾🎉 Okay, let’s get down to the important stuff—other animals. The big question: Will I get along with other dogs? The answer is: YES! I’m all about making new friends, whether they’re fluffy, scaly, or anything in between (well, except maybe squirrels... those guys are a bit too fast for me). I love hanging out with other dogs, playing, and having a good time. But when I’m not in the mood for play, I’m totally cool with chilling solo, so no worries if you’re an only-dog household. I can totally rock that, too. As for cats, well, I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting one yet, so that’s still a mystery. But hey, I’m a pretty adaptable pup, so I’m sure I could figure it out... as long as they don’t mind my excitable nature. And kids? Oh, I’m a total fan. I mean, who wouldn’t want a little fluff ball like me around for cuddles and puppy kisses? I’m the type of gal who’s just as happy playing with kids as I am snuggling up for a nap after the fun. Bring on the playdates, the giggles, and all the love—count me in. Now, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of living with me. First off, I gotta be honest—I’m not exactly an apartment kinda gal. I’m still a puppy, and I’ve got a lot of energy to burn! I need some room to run and play, so a big backyard or a space where I can stretch my fluffy legs is more my speed. When it comes to potty training... well, let’s just say I’m still working on it. I’m a puppy, after all! But don’t worry—I’m smart, and with some patience and guidance, I’ll get the hang of it in no time. Now, about that kennel... I’m pretty good in my puppy kennel! I might not love it forever (who does?), but I’m used to it and I’ll settle down for my naps without too much drama. As for the couch? Well, I’m still a little too short to hop up there all on my own, but with a little help, I’m happy to snuggle in for some quality time with my humans. And as for barking? Well, let’s be real—I’m a puppy, so I don’t really bark yet. But don’t think for a second I’m shy—I talk a lot. You might hear me make some adorable little puppy noises, just to let you know I’m around, but barking? Nah, not really my style… at least not yet. So, I might be absolutely adorable but you should probably know what you are getting into should you adopt me. Imagine asking your spouse to do something and getting that "Sure, honey" response... followed by complete silence. That’s me with commands. I’m smart. I know exactly what you want, but sometimes... well, I have other priorities. But don’t worry, I’ll still love you unconditionally (I just won't always do things on your timeline). Ever heard a dog bark at a leaf? Or an ant? Or a cloud? Welcome to the world of Pyr behavior. I’m here to tell you: I will protect this house from every minor disturbance—no matter how tiny. My bark is my superpower, and I’m not afraid to use it. A warning: If you have a thing for immaculate furniture, maybe reconsider. I’m shedding so much I could be running a wool factory. The couch, your clothes, your shoes, your car, your furniture... everything will get a coat of Flake. You’ll get used to it. (Kind of.) So, while I’m sweet and cuddly, there are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to a Great Pyrenees in the family. But trust me, all those quirks just make me the wonderfully unique puppy I am—and we’ll all have a blast figuring this out together! 💕 So what happens next? Well, I would hope that you would submit an adoption app for me. You can find the app on the rescue's website, message them for it, or find it in the comments below. I am being fostered in ✨Oolagah, OK✨ so if you live outside the area..no worries. Just be prepared to pack for a road trip because this rescue doesn't send us on transports. So, both they and I will be expecting you to come pick me up. And what better way to start the bonding process than with a road trip?! I know, I know—you want to bring me home right now! But here’s the thing: I won’t be ready until after Christmas. 😔 I promise it’ll be worth the wait though! Use this time to prep your home for a fluffy bundle of joy, and maybe even practice your snuggling skills (I’m really good at that). 🎄✨ So hang in there—I’ll be ready to bring all the puppy love to your home just in time for the new year! Until then, keep your holiday spirit high and your cuddle game strong! Flake out! 💕🐾

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Flake, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
