My story

Gentlest baby of them all! Hi there! My name is Soia, and I’m a 2-year-old, 42-pound Lab mix. I came all the way from The Bahamas, where I was rescued by Voiceless Dogs of Nassau before they closed down. I’ve had a bit of a rough start, so I’m still learning to trust people and feel safe in new environments. Right now, I’m pee pad trained, but I can potty outside if I feel comfortable and have the chance! I haven’t learned how to walk on a leash yet, but I’m hopeful that I’ll get there soon. When I first arrived at TAP, I was a little shut down, but I’m slowly gaining confidence every day. I’m still a bit nervous and like to keep my distance from people, especially when I can see them, but when I have my foster siblings around, I feel braver and enjoy exploring more. I’m a quiet girl, and I love other dogs, so I’d really appreciate having a doggy friend in my forever home. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I’m pretty sure I’d be fine with them. I do like older, respectful of space kinda kids, though! Right now, I spend most of my time in my pen or crate, but I’m starting to feel curious about the world and am working up the courage to explore more. I’m a sweet girl, and with a little time and patience, I know I’ll open up and bond with my forever family. I need a calm, mellow home where I can decompress and feel safe, with people who are ready to spoil me and help me learn to trust. I might be a bit shy at first, but I promise I’ll be a loving, loyal companion once I know I’m in the right place. My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##2148702##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Soia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
